MEAT MISSION Shoreditch.

Me and some friends fancied eating somewhere FUN the other Friday after work...so we hit MEAT MISSION (sister restaurant to Meat Liquor)

The restaurant is located in Shoreditch, East London. We got there at 5.30pm so luckily for us it was'nt that busy.........yet.

Leave the diet at the door!

We started off with some cocktails which the barman made especially for us. We wanted something refreshing with cucumber and mint, he brought over 4 of these for us and they were REALLY good!

We kept ordering them so for the next round we just ordered 8 to save time ;)

Hmm what to order. I was stupidly trying to find something healthy ish, but no such luck. EVERYTHING is double fattening but hey, then it will be double tasty :)

I was told by a friend to try the Dead Hippie Burger, as this was the most popular. We also ordered fries, fired pickles and Monkey Fingers - these are deep-fired strips of tender chicken soaked in buffalo sauce and  served with a blue cheese dip.

After sinking MORE cocktails (junk food always tastes better when you're slightly hammered) our order arrived....well 2 Dead Hippie Burgers arrived and 2 fries. We assumed this was ours and the rest was coming. The 2 boys in our group got stuck in like pigs and ate the burgers.

Then another order arrived...

We explained we had only ordered 4 burgers, not 6, and they told us the other 2 we had earlier had been sent to our table by mistake.

Oh well the more for us :)

The food was disgustingly goooooood!! Juicy and delicious...probable one of the best burgers I've ever had.

I dream of this whenever I wake up hung over, I want to teleport to Meat Mission!!

The Monkey Fingers.......

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The blue cheese dip was out of this world.

We all got stuck in and stuffed our faces silly. It was very messy.

We ordered more drinks but the busier the restaurant got the slower the service was so we ended up leaving to go to another bar. I guess it's only good for a quick bite and we had a whole night of boozing planned ;)

By the time we left it was RAMMED. There was a great vibe and buzzing atmosphere, pumping tunes and lots of laughs so an ideal place to hit after work to unwind.
I noticed a photo booth on my way out...that's a great idea and I will be using it next time :)

The food is really reasonable too!!

I prefer it to Meat Liquor as it is much bigger with more open space and you don't have to wait long for a table.

I will be going here again for sure, it totally releases the kid within us all!

I had to hit the gym several times the week after to feel less guilty!

MORITO - recent discovery!

On Saturday Andy and I went for a walk.

We were starving and went on the hunt for somewhere new!

We walked from our house in Angel (London) to Exmouth Market.

Exmouth Market secretly hidden in-between Angel and Farringdon and has lots of interesting restaurants, bars and cafes. It's got a really cool, trendy vibe.

We walked past a little Tapas restaurant called Morito and thought hmmm we're really in the mood for some Tapas :)

We were seated by the window which was lovely, it's so nice to be able to look out the window and see the world go by.

The cocktail list was far too good so we asked them for two of their most popular ones.

We had a 'rebojito' which is fino, lemonade and mint.....

.....and a 'cava pomegranate' cava and pomegranate juice......

They were both beautifully refreshing and bursting with flavour. We had never tried fino and lemonade before but it's now our new favourite drink!

So time to order some foooooood!!!
It's always so hard with tapas, every dish sounds amazing!

We started with the lamb chops, cumin and paprika with a dish of  chickpeas, pumpkin, coriander and tahini.

Both dishes were outstanding! The chickpea dish especially had such unique flavours, I couldn't stop eating it!

The puntillitas arrived - fried baby squid. Really nice but nothing special.

To go with our tapas feast we ordered a carafe of red wine - borsao garnacha/syrah @ £11. It was really bold and fruity and went really well with each dish.

Then the next dish arrived....charcoal grilled leeks and romesco YUM!!!!!

Romesco is a nut and red pepper-based sauce from Spain. It is made from a mixture of roasted almonds, pine nuts and hazelnuts, roasted garlic, olive oil and peppers. I had never tried it before but I love it...will try and make it at home :)

And then one of my personal favourites! Pulpo a la gallega - octopus, potato and paprika.

WOW! It was the BEST octopus I have ever had!!!! Next time i'm ordering two!! Sooooo fresh and delicious!!

It's crazy to think they cooked all that amazing food in that TINY kitchen!!!!!

What a great discovery! It's funny how it's been so close to our house all this time but we had never been. We will be going there allot now!!
Tapas is so much fun and it's so nice to relax and take your time between each dish.

The menu changes daily with different specials so you can always try new dishes.
Prices range betweem £4 - £8 per dish, depending on what you have.

Sicily Taormina - GRAND HOTEL ATLANTIS BAY. Pure luxury :)

Last year in August I went to Taormina in Sicily for a romantic holiday with Andy :)

If your thinking about getting away and going somewhere really special I STRONGLY recommend this hotel.

The experience was  INCREDIBLE!

One of the best holidays I have ever had.

Check it out.......

The hotel is built into the cliff giving you the most stunning views.

This was our room....

....and our balcony.....

.......and the view!!!!

The interior of the hotel was beautiful with so much detail and an under the sea theme....

The breakfast buffet was one of the best i've had, so varied with a huge range! It got me out of bed early in the mornings!!

The muffins and pastries were my favourite :) YUM

Beautiful Taormina is around 5 mins away on the cable lift located 1 min from the hotel.

There are TONS of amazing restaurants and bars and the shopping is brilliant!!

Oooohhh la la lots of romantic dinners...

We did a day trip to Mount Etna which is a must see!

Followed by lunch and a tour of a local vineyard where we bought several cases of wine :)

This hotel is not cheap......but if you want pure luxury you have to pay for it and this hotel is just HEAVEN!!!!! We will definitely be going back!
